A hand-knotted Anatolian wool area rug. The rug features memling guls worked in shades of claret, abrash indigo, ivory, black, gray, and camel on an abrash madder field. The cetral motifs are bounded by stepped designs. The field is further populated by stylized floral and animal motifs. The barber pole guard borders worked in the same palette flank a center border with stylized meander and arrow design. Short fringe to each end. Overcast selvedges. Unlabeled.
