Item Details
A Japanese satsuma style vase. This hand-painted porcelain vessel is decorated with a pair of figurative vignettes with gilt accents in relief. The piece depicts a trio of children at play to one side and a pair of samurai opposite. They are surrounded by elaborate raised geometric motifs and gilt detail. The piece bears a kiln mark to the underside: ‘left 4 (左四).’
Condition
- wear to gilt trim; crazing throughout, small areas of discoloration.
