Imari Style Ginger Jar

Item Details

A lidded ginger jar in the style of Imari ware. This piece features a pair of figural vignettes depicting a trio of children at play. They are framed by copious geometric and floral motifs in pink, red, blue, and pale yellow. The piece is accented with gilt trim and jeweled throughout. It is finished with a molded handle in the shape of a flower. The piece is unmarked.

Condition

- minor wear to painted and gilt finish throughout; patch of blue paint is chipped off to one side; lid does not fit snugly onto vessel; gilt has worn off on lid.
