Original 19th-Century Oil Portraits on Wood Panel of Judith and Offin Boardman
Item Details
A pair of original 19th-century oil paintings on wood panel. These portraits depict the married couple of Judith and Offin Boardman who wed in 1803. Both are wearing somber period clothing of their time. Inscribed to the verso are the subjects’ birth and death dates. The pieces are unsigned. Each painting is presented in a wood frame with a gold tone sight liner with beaded moulding and wire to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- scratches and paint loss to surface; scratches along the frame; inpainting present throughout painting surfaces (see photos).
