Antique Handwoven Turkmen Accent Rug
Item Details
An antique Turkmen accent rug. This wool rug is handwoven in a palette of raspberry, pink, indigo, and black. It features three large Tekke medallions in indigo and pink, over a raspberry field. The Tekke medallions are flanked by partial guls, which incorporate ram’s horns, eight-pointed stars, and geometric florets. Framing the field are compound borders that have been cut away or otherwise lost on the bottom end and partially lost at the top. Selvedges are triple overcast, the rug finishing with long wool warp fringe at each end. Unlabeled.
