Collection of Intaglio Prints on Paper

Item Details

A collection of three intaglio prints on paper. This collection features two etchings, and one restrike drypoint engraving with etched details. The restrike drypoint, by artist Samuel Coleman, depicts a city of Durham, England with some cows are drinking along the River Wear; it is initialed in plate to the lower left. The first etching is titled A Spring Day after an original etching by Fred Slocombe, and features a forest path with a small cottage. The second etching is titled Harrow Church after an original etching by Percy Robertson, and depicts a flock of birds flying over Harrow Church and graveyard. The latter two prints are signed in plate to the lower right. All prints are presented loose in acetate sheaths with mats.

Condition

- to fair; toning to paper; there are tears and rips to both etchings; some water damage to the edges of the drypoint.
