A hand-knotted Indo-Persian silk and wool accent rug from the Shaw Art Palace, New Dehli. This elaborate rug features a palette of indigo, cranberry, ivory, sky blue, and rose, beginning with a central medallion with cranberry spandrels filled and surrounded with floral motifs including sprays, hyacinths, lotus, and rosettes. The field is framed with meandering flower guards and an ornate herati pattern to the main border. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and a natural warp ivory knotted fringe. Shows an illegible label to the underside.
