Two Mid-Century Etchings on Paper by James Fagan and Arthur Briscoe

A pair of mid-century etchings on paper with boat themes. The first work is an etching on paper with hand colored elements titled Solitude by American artist James Fagan (B, 1864). Signed and titled in graphite to the bottom plate margin. A gallery label is adhered to the verso. The second work is a limited edition etching on paper by Arthur Briscoe (British; 1873 – 1943) signed both in plate and in graphite to the bottom plate margin. Numbered ‘4/78’ and dated 1929, with a gallery label adhered to the verso. Each work is presented mounted without a frame under a cellophane bag.
Condition
- to fair; wear around the edges of the mats; work is discolored with large areas of foxing.
