Item Details

An antique Chippendale slant-front desk in cherry, circa 1790s. The dovetailed case features a rectangular top above a slant-front opening to a fitted desk interior with a row of pigeonholes over five aligned, dovetailed drawers. The writing surface extends above four drawers with brass pulls and the desk rises on a molded base ending in bracket feet.

Condition

- some expected, minor surface wear; bottom backboard has been replaced; one backboard retains a partial shipping label marked “Norwich, N.Y.”; brass hardware replaced; one interior drawer knob chipped.
