A pair of lithographs depicting the silhouettes of John Marshall and Levi Woodbury made by brothers Elijah Chapman Kellogg and Edmund Burke Kellogg’s (1811-1881 and 1809-1872) firm, E.B. & E.C. Kellogg, after William Henry Brown’s (1808-1883) cut paper portraits. These prints each depict the shadow of a well-dressed man, some detailing offered in fine white lines, against a well-rendered background of a terrace and simply-appointed room. Both have the artists’ information, along with the subject’s name, to the lower margins, and are presented under glass in wooden frames. There is wire for hanging, one including a hand-written notation regarding the artists, present to the versos of the prints.

- fair; separation at frame corners; wear and chipping to frames; wear to versos; some toning to prints.
