19th Century German Portrait On Porcelain With Brass Frame

A late 19th century German oval porcelain plaque with hand painted portrait of a woman after Conrad Keisel. With finely painted enamel decoration the woman appears in a strapless dress with wavy brown hair, brown eyes and pursed lips. She is adorned with coin hoop earrings and a small veil. The plaque is signed N.C. Keisel to the lower right. The porcelain back is stamped for Richard Klemm with an incised 3. Presented in an oval brass frame with laurel wreath and ribbon garland embellishment to the top, fabric inset and small hinged loop for hanging.

Condition

- wear to the fabric insert of the frame.
