An original 1888 oil painting on canvas by well-listed American Impressionist Cornelius Hankins (Mississippi/Tennessee/Virginia; 1863 – 1946). This piece depicts an empty, flat beach with gentle waves breaking on the shore. The sky overhead is a deep blue with scattered clouds. It is signed and dated by the artist in paint to the lower right. This painting is presented in a gold tone frame with floral molded details and wire to the verso for hanging.
