A set of sterling silver flatware in the La Scala pattern by Gorham. Designed in 1964 by Peter C. Gavette with inspiration from the La Scala opera house in Milan, Italy, each item features a scalloped tip with ornate scrollwork, floral detailing, a central rose motif, and granulated accents. Includes eleven dinner knives with stainless steel blades, twelve teaspoons, twelve soup spoons, twelve salad forks, and twelve dinner forks. Items are marked with a lion, an anchor and a G followed by ‘Gorham Sterling’. The knives are marked ‘Stainless Gorham Sterling Handle’. Items present in a wooden storage box. The total approximate weight, excluding the knives with stainless blades, is 78.549 ozt.
