An oil painting on board by listed Maryland artist Carol Lee Thompson (born 1958). The piece depicts a grizzly bear standing in a river as he catches salmon swimming upstream during their annual salmon run, rendered in a palette of soft blue, green and brown hues. The work is signed in blue paint to the lower left. It is presented without glass in a beveled gold tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
