A late 19th-century French Grand Tour bronze sculpture of Napoleon’s column. This freestanding model, which is found in Place Vendôme, depicts the aforementioned political figure posed as a finial atop a large column accented with banded hieroglyphs in a low relief. The column is fitted with a thermometer that is no longer intact. The column sits upon a black slate plinth.

Condition

- lower gallery around the plinth is loose; slight tarnishing to sculpture.
