An 1863 hand colored lithograph of a Civil War Battle by Currier & Ives titled The Great Fight at Charleston S.C. April 7th, 1863 It depicts Union ironclad gunboats bombarding Fort Sumter, which is obscured by clouds of smoke and fire. It is mounted under glass in an old wooded frame that is fitted with a metal ring for hanging.
Condition
- print has water stains to the lower margin; discolored with age and wood backing; frame finish is darkened and blistered with age.
