1892 World's Columbian Exposition Commemorative Silver Half-Dollar

An 1882 World’s Columbian Exposition Commemorative half-dollar. This coin was the first United States Commemorative coin and was Designed by Olin Lewis Warner. Charles E. Barber engraved the obverse, with George T. Morgan engraving the reverse. A collaboration made interesting as the two were fiercely competitive with one another. Diameter: 30.61 mm. Weight: approximately 12 grams. Composition: 90% silver 10% copper.
