Hepplewhite Style Flame Mahogany Brandy Board, Circa Mid-1800s

Item Details

A Hepplewhite style mahogany brandy board, circa mid-1800s. This piece has circular turret corners to the rectangular top, with a slightly bowed front. It has a center cabinet flanked by two deep drawers, set over two stacked drawers that span the length of the piece. It has a scalloped apron and reeded stiles which are turned to the top and bottom, and extend to blunt arrow feet. It has flame veneer to the cabinet doors and deep drawer fronts. The drawers and doors are all bordered with a thin satinwood inlay and again with a striped veneer. To the top, it is bordered with a satinwood design, and to the bottom is is bordered with a checked strip inlay. It has brass knobs, handles, and escutcheons. The unfinished back is composed of framed panels.

Some scratches. Chipped veneer. Door does not stay shut. Key is provided but does not fit.
