Janet M. Anderson Ink and Watercolor Painting of George P. MacNichol House

Item Details

An ink and watercolor painting of the George P. MacNichol House by listed artist Janet M. Anderson (1949 – 1996). This painting depicts the Victorian style house, which was commemorated as a Michigan historic site, from a profile view. The pools of pigment are reinforced by linear and cross-hatched linework clustered together. To the lower margins is a handwritten artist signature, dated 1977, which is complemented by the location and date that the house was built. The painting is mounted to a pale blue backing and is placed under glass beneath layered matting in a gold tone metal frame with hanging wire and an artist stamp to the verso.
