Antique 19th-Century Honorable Discharge Military Certificate
Item Details
An antique 19th-century American military certificate for the Honorable Discharge of a man named Leonard H. Hill, circa 1864, and was presented to his wife and children in 1897. Hand-calligraphed inscriptions fill the certificate, explaining the soldier’s story of military service. The delicate certificate is dry-mounted on a waxed linen conservation substrate, presented unframed.
Condition
- certificate is notably ripped at top edge, with other tears and wear throughout. Large stain to left side of print. Discoloration across paper.
