Berger Oil Painting on Board of Figures Walking in European Village Landscape

An oil painting on board by Berger. The piece depicts two figures walking along a path through a quiet European village landscape, set against distant hills and cloud blue skies. The work is signed by hand to the lower left appearing to read ‘FHZ Berger’; however, no clear artist attribution could be made. It is presented without glass in a gold tone wooden frame embellished with foliate gesso accents to the edges, and fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- nicks and scratches to frame; no backing paper.
