Japanese Jiki-Shippo Meiji Period Urn

Item Details

A Japanese porcelain urn from the late Meiji period (1868-1912). The textured Jiki-Shippo decoration depicts two cranes, nestled among bamboo leaves. It features a tree bark cloisonné light relief, matte and satin finish, in iron-red and black enamels. The urn is finished with a scalloped band around bottom edge. Unmarked.
