An offset lithograph titled Paul Revere Gives the Alarm to the Countryside – 1775 after Charles Hoffbauer (1875-1957). This historical work depicts Paul Revere on his famous ride through Massachusetts warning of the arrival of the British as he pauses in one town to spread the word. This print is after a series of murals in the home offices of the New England Mutual Life Insurance Company in Copley Square, Boston. The piece is initialed in plate to the lower right. It is presented behind a white mat behind glass in a black wooden frame without hanging apparatus.
Condition
- small bits of dirt under glass; torn paper backing.
