A limited edition drypoint etching with aquatint on paper titled_ Symphony in Blue_ by listed artist Louis Icart (French; 1888 – 1950). Depicted is an ethereal woman staring out a window at the swallows flying by. Artist’s signature to lower right corner of piece along with the title, original stamp, and edition number. Presented as loose work without frame or mat.

Louis Justin Laurent Icart was born in Toulouse in 1890 and lived in New York City in the 1920s, where he became known for his Art-Deco color etchings of women. It was through Icart’s love for the theater that he developed a taste for the arts. It was not until he moved to Paris that Icart began painting, drawing and creating etchings that would immortalize him within the art world.
