Hand Knotted Kazak Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand woven Kazak wool area rug.. The abrash indigo field is populated with three large linear herati in shades of buff, ochre, sienna, black, and brighter denim blue. From the borders, large motifs in sienna, buff, blue, and black project inward toward the center of the carpet. Two of these are whole and two are halved by the corners of the borders. The complex borders include running-dog, checkered, and sawtooth patterns flanking a primary border with buff background infilled with cruciform motifs and a stylized check-mark type pattern. All are worked in the same palette. Natural wool fringe at each end. Unmarked.
