A pair of oil paintings on decorative wooden panels. This pair includes two panels with six three-pronged finials and concave curves. Each panel features an oil painting to the front, one depicting ships in front of Mount Orgueil Castle in Jersey, France and the other depicting Boulay Bay in Jersey, France. The first panel is marked to the bottom by hand ‘Mount Orgueil Castle, DS Harbour, Jersey’ and the second is marked to the bottom left ‘Boulay Bay, Jersey.’ Both panels feature hanging hooks to the versos and no signatures are present.
Condition
- craquelure scratches and nicks throughout both images; mother-of-pearl is inlaid in a few spots on both image; at the bottom of the Boulay Bay there is in-painting where the bottom was attempted to be repaired
