A limited edition drypoint etching with aquatint titled The Gay Senorita by listed artist Louis Icart (French; 1888 – 1950). Depicted is a woman lounging in a green dress with a tambourine off to the side. Artist’s signature to lower right corner. Presented as loose work without frame or mat.

Louis Justin Laurent Icart was born in Toulouse in 1890 and lived in New York City in the 1920s, where he became known for his Art-Deco color etchings of women. It was through Icart’s love for the theater that he developed a taste for the arts. It was not until he moved to Paris that Icart began painting, drawing and creating etchings that would immortalize him within the art world.
