Large Handwoven Floral Area Rug

A large handwoven floral area rug. The rug is rendered in a palette of dark chocolate, mocha, shades of green, pink, crimson, and yellow, in a textured weave that achieves a chenille affect in pictorial areas. It features naturalistic depictions of hibiscus, lotus, and other flowers amid leaves and branches, over a dark chocolate field. Selvedges are overcast; top and bottom are serged. The rug is unlabeled.

Condition

- some minor fraying along selvedges; the rug has some small spots on the surface and appears to have been repaired in one small area of the field; it could benefit from professional cleaning.
