This print depicts a extravagant scene of a proposal in a domestic setting with servants pouring drinks in the background. The print is marked ‘The Proposal’ in the center margin, ‘G. Metsu, Pinx’ in the left margin, and ‘Rauscher’ in the right margin. This work is presented under glass with a wooden frame and a mat. There is a label with a biography of Gabriel Metsu on the frame verso.
