Two Prints After Renaissance Paintings

An offset lithograph print on paper after ‘The Burial of the Count of Orgaz’ by El Greco (1541 – 1614) and a cropped giclee print on canvas after ‘The Coronation of Napoleon’ by Jacques-Louis David (1748 – 1825). Depicted is the legend of the passing the Count as Saint Stephen and Saint Augustine descended from the heavens to bury him with their own hands due to his graciousness in life. The other print depicts a cropped image from ‘The Coronation of Napoleon’ centered on Joséphine de Beauharnais as she kneels before her husband, who is out of frame. Both prints are unsigned. Larger print is presented in a wooden frame under glass with wire to the verso for hanging. Smaller print is presented in a white wooden frame without glass and wire to the verso for hanging.
