Hand-Colored Drypoint Engraving on Paper "Guitar Player"
Item Details
A hand-colored drypoint engraving on paper titled Guitar Player. This engraving depicts a guitar player lost in song. He casually sits on a table as he stares off into the distance. This composition is rendered with bright watercolors in portal view. A remarque of a sword, a carafe, and two glasses is engraved to the lower left corner. It is signed in graphite to the lower right ‘J. Hall.’ It is titled in graphite to the lower left of the paper. A sticker for ’Bailey’s Art Shop’ attached to verso. It is presented in a wood frame under glass.
Condition
- to fair; chipping and cracking to frame; frame weakening at corners; broken wire handing to verso; glass could benefit from being cleaned; slight toning to the paper
