Pair of Tan Gawisi Wooden Sculptures
Item Details
A pair of wooden sculptures that were inspired by Tangawisi. This pair of sculptures are made from a dark wood and one depicts three human forms with large heads, exaggerated facial features, and long limbs. The other depicts animals including a gazelle and one human form. One is marked ‘Tangawisi’ to the base which is a traditional aphrodisiac drink made with ginger and mango tree sap in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

- several areas of wear throughout; several deliberately textured areas.
