A copy oil painting on canvas after a painting titled A Surprising Result by listed artist William Henry Hamilton Trood (1860-1899). This painting depicts a pair of small dogs springing out of the way of the cork from an exploding bottle of sparkling wine, shocked expressions on their faces. This piece is presented, unsigned, in a grayish wooden frame with a light-colored liner and rings to facilitate hanging to the verso.

- dust and debris to surface of painting; small amount of paint loss in lower right area of painting; frame has some surface wear.
