An antique lithograph editorial cartoon published by Harper & Brothers. This illustration depicts a mustachioed man fishing in the rain in the foreground of a silhouette of the Washington Monument. An upturned top hat at his side is labeled ‘1880’ and filled with boxes marked ‘Political Money’. Under the water, fish labeled ‘Democrat’ and ‘Republican’ swim away from his bait. A title in the lower margin reads ‘The Lone Fisherman (From Mass); Or, The Bulldozed Man’ It is presented unframed, sealed in plastic wrap.

- toning and water spots throughout print; typing from verso visible on front side of print; scuff marks throughout plastic covering; debris beneath plastic covering.
