An original antique oil painting on paperboard. The painting depicts an expansive landscape scene filled with layers of dense, lush trees surrounding a flat body of water. A small stone fortress stands on one edge of the water, and a pair of graceful swans float across water’s surface. The board appears to have a thin layer of paper wrapped around its edges. It is presented in a wooden frame with ornate cast surface embellishments, seamless corners, gold tone finish, and a hanging wire attached to the verso. Foam core has been applied across the piece’s verso for protection.
Condition
- board is slightly warped across. Blacklight technology reveals small areas of inpainting across the painting, most notably along the entire lower margin.
