Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Persian accent rug. This wool rug, likely made in India, is rendered in a palette of tangerine, cream, camel, and cornsilk. It begins with a large floral medallion grounded in cornsilk, with pendants at top and bottom. The medallion rests on a tangerine lozenge, which, in turn, rests on a cream-colored field. Flowers, leaves, and vines fill the medallion, lozenge, and field. The rug’s main border features a stylized herati pattern over camel. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with long cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
