A 1976 oil painting on canvas by listed Austin, Texas artist Ken Fleisch (1943 – 2008). The piece, titled Stoneware Churn, depicts a stoneware butter churn against a backdrop of a textured stucco wall and tall grass, set just outside the open wooden door of a rustic cottage. The work is signed in beige paint to the lower right, with additional artist and date notations written to the canvas verso. It is presented without glass in a wormy chestnut-style frame that includes a tan linen liner to the front and hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- staining to liner; minor wear to frame; most of the backing paper has been removed.
