Ink Wash

An original ink drawing on paper of musicians by artist Emily Thompson. This drawing depicts a trumpet player and a banjo player seated in front of a brick wall. A sign that reads Dixieland Jazz hangs above the musician’s heads. The artist used a cross-hatching technique to depict varying textures and values. The drawing is signed and dated (’73) to the lower right. This piece is presented in a brown mat, behind glass, and in a silver tone metal frame. The verso of this piece is equipped to hang.

Condition

- the frame is dented and scratched in several areas. There is some discoloration where the mat and drawing paper meet. The corners of the frame are separating in three of the four corners.
