Hand-Knotted Vintage Persian Kashan Room Size Rug

A hand-knotted vintage Persian Kashan room size rug, attributed to the Shadsar workshop, but a clear attribution could not be established. The wool and cotton rug features a center medallion, spandrels, compound borders on red field with pattern in palette of indigo, ivory, blue, ochre and fuchsia with periwinkle, purple and teal accents. The medallion and spandrels have an indigo field. The rug is unmarked, with overcast edges and natural cotton warp fringe. Labeled to reverse ‘Made in Iran’.
