An oil painting on board by Dennis Westerling (American, b. 1944). This painting depicts the edge of a path lined by dark trees and dotted with bright purple flowers. Soft light suggesting a purplish dusk shines through the spaces between the trees. Signed D. WESTERLING in paint in lower left corner and presented without glass in a gold painted wooden frame. Hanging hardware and wire attached to verso.

Westerling attended the Walter Emerson Baum School of Art in Allentown, Pennsylvania and was a student of the noted California artist, Michael Dancer. He is known for Plein-Air style landscapes such as this idyllic scene.
