F. W. Faig Vintage Oil Painting on Canvas

Item Details

An original oil painting on canvas by listed Cincinnati artist Frances Wiley Faig (1885-1955). A large tree is foremost in this piece, jutting from the river bank with draping leaves in a spectrum of yellow and green colors with blue undertones. It is signed in paint in the lower right hand corner, and presented in a gilded wooden frame.

Faig studied under both Frank Duveneck and Charles Hawthorne, and was responsible for the mural in the Engineering Library at University of Cincinnati.

- Stray mark (~1") on upper center of artwork, possibly created during painting; some crazing
