Pair of Handwoven North African Wool Textiles

Item Details

A pair of handwoven North African wool textiles, likely of Moroccan origin, and could have been used as saddle or donkey blankets. Each is made of two narrow mirrored pieces, stitched with a seam to the center. Each is rendered in a palette of reds, pinks, deep browns and taupe, in stripes with embroidered or sewn decorative elements in contrasting colors. They have overcast edges and are unmarked.
