Darren Goodman's Hand Blown Red "Vetrobottle" From the Ferrari Series, Signed

Item Details

A hand blown red Vetrobottle made by Cincinnati artist Darren Goodman for the Ferrari North America’s International Challenge Races, signed and dated 2009. The artist uses an age old Venetian method called vetra a fili to create the red and yellow swirl pattern (Ferrari’s trademark colors), then he allows gravity to create the organic fluted shape for a one of a kind artistic piece. The impossibly thin, delicate neck and flat lip are both aesthetically pleasing and a dramatic juxtaposition to the large body of the bottle. A book illustrating many examples of the Artist’s work titled Darren Goodman, Trial By Fire is included. Several additional glass art bottles by Darren are offered in this sale as #17DCC150-242 and #17DCC150-275.

Darren Goodman is a glass artist with his own studio in Waynesville, Ohio. After graduating from Bowling Green State University he apprenticed under master glass artist Leon Applebaum in Corning, New York then attended workshops with several glass artist legends to include Dante Marioni (Seattle, WA), Lino Tagliapietra (Venice, Italy) and Nancy Callan (Seattle, WA). Darren received the commission to create trophy bottles for the Ferrari’s North America Challenge Races in 2009 and was honored with the Cincinnati Art Museum’s 4th Floor Award in 2011. He has exhibited his art glass throughout the Midwest and he enthusiastically coordinates glass blowing classes for students at both the elementary and high school levels.
