A hand-knotted Lincoln area rug by Anabel’s Oriental Rugs. This Indian-made wool rug features a Persian-inspired design in a palette of rust. camel, and pale mustard. It begins with a herati pattern of crisply rendered large palmettes, lancet leaves, flowers, and vines over a rust-colored field. Framing the field are four borders, including a primary herati border over camel. The primary border is flanked by floral minor borders grounded in pale mustard and an outer guard border of rust. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at either end with short white kilim skirts featuring decorative bands of rust and black, the skirts ending with ivory wool warp fringe. The rug is labeled on the reverse.
