An oil painting on canvas portrait of a young man. Painted in the style of early 19th century portraits, it depicts an adolescent boy in a black suit holding what appears to be a tall crowned cap. He is depicted standing outdoors with trees and a view of the ocean in the background. It is mounted in an wooden frame with ornate carved decoration and bright gilded finish. The frame is wired for hanging.

- craquelure to surface of painting; frame has surface wear; chip on lower left corner; two drill holes at top of frame and bottom; small dent on left side.
