Item Details

In Plate

An offset lithographic reproduction after the original painting Maiden Lane, New York in 1800 by English maritime artist John Stobart (1929). This print depicts a historical recreation of Maiden Lane in New York as it would have appeared in 1800. A cobbled street is partially lit by lamp light and several figures engaged in various activity are in the street. Tall ships are moored at the end of the pier under a full moon partially obscured by clouds. This print is signed in plate and presented in black and gray matting, behind glass, and in a dark stained wood frame. The verso of this piece is equipped to hang.
