1954 Limited Editions Club "Swann's Way" Signed by Illustrator Bernard Lamotte

An illustrator-signed limited edition of Swann’s Way by Marcel Proust, published in 1954 by the Limited Editions Club. This edition uses the translation of C. K. Scott Moncrieff and features color illustrations after paintings by Bernard Lamotte. A front page reads, ‘This edition of _Swann’s Way_ was planned for the members of the Limited Editions Club by George Macy / The composition of the text, and its printing, were done by Irvin Silvers at the Garamond Press in Baltimore / The illustrations were painted by Bernard Lamotte, reproduced by Deberny et Peignot, and printed in Paris in the atelier of Lucien Delaporte. There are fifteen hundred copies, of which this is copy number 665 and it is here signed by the illustrator Bernard Lamotte’, with the ‘665’ stamped in blue and Lamotte’s name hand-signed. The book is bound in gray cloth-covered boards and includes a slipcase box.
