Coil Built Stoneware Vase

Item Details

A coil built stoneware vase. The vase features a coil built form, with the coils arranged in such a way as to have openings in between the decorative inlaid coils. It has an overall wood or pit fired appearance with areas of carbon blacking over a deep red terracotta stoneware clay body. It has an extended, wheel thrown applied neck, and is unmarked on the underside.

Condition

- some small chips to the glaze surface, wear consistent with age and use.
