A handbuilt, sculptural stoneware figural teapot. This teapot features the carved form of an ancient soldier’s bust with a Roman style helmet, with the spout formed as a part of the decorative elements of the helmet. The plume serves as the spout and the removable lid. The sparse yellow and blue underglaze accents contribute to the weathered aesthetic. There are no visible maker’s marks to the piece.
