A mid-to-late 19th-century tintype photograph. The piece depicts a young boy in formal attire, shown seated on an upholstered chair. The item comes in a circa 1860s hinged thermoplastic union case with raised foliate patterns to the cover. The case features a plum colored velvet liner, as well as a gold tone border around the photo with embossed foliate and floral patterns.

Condition

- to Fair; edge wear with some chipping to corners; overall surface wear, fading and dust; tarnish to metal hardware; wear and abrasions to velvet and fabric linings; photo and matting are off-center inside case; toning and fading to matting and photo; creasing, wear and staining to gold foil border.
